Quickstep - Dance rich variations

Technique dance the QUICKSTEP for beginners

see Recommended reading in dance. Symbols and abbreviations

English in origin, replaced the old quickstep Foxtrot (see Foxtrot), which was popular in the 30-ies and presented a wonderful sample of the quick dance. I should say that most English textbooks the term "Foxtrot" is called dance, which we called the slow Foxtrot.

If the term "Foxtrot" shaped (in a literal translation "step foxes"), the term "quickstep" is more accurate, that is "quick step". Indeed, we are talking about the dance, which, in accordance with its vital rhythm requires the executor of ease and mobility. Rich in variations, the quickstep is considered to be "a little grammar" standardized dances. Size: 4/4.

Temp: 48 bars or 192 beats per minute, the first and third beats accented.

Basic rhythm: slow, slow, quick, quick, slow; each "slow" step represents two shares, and each "quick" corresponds to one share. Position: partners stand and face each other erect, but without strain, feet together. Partner slightly to the right of the partner who supports her with his right brush just above the natural waist. In his left hand is the right hand of the partner, which he supports at the level of her eyes. Partner lead partner body and right hand, shoulders and arms are not involved in the movement. The steps of the quickstep is somewhat shorter than the slow Foxtrot, the quick music of this dance.
